You are what you thought about in days and years past. Earl Nightingale covers this in his "Strangest Secret" that you can judge the exchange value of a person by the environment arround them. Knowing the Law of Attraction, that explains it as well.
A person is complex - of their own choice. People like diversity and having their hands full of interesting things to do and to achieve.
But not always does this translate into the goals they want to achieve. They wish for financial independence, for a job they love, for a family to raise and cherish. But the money's not there, the job would be quit on a moment's notice, there are arguments with the spouse and kids.
Now this is all because you thought certain ways - and have been continuing those thoughts.
Some have become bad mental habits, others you just have never inspected and so just keep doing them.
If you want to change something, you are going to have to change something.
Whatever you've thought and done so far will only get you where you are. If you want to improve on what you have, you have to change what you are thinking and doing.
You want to get rich? Get some "getting rich" books (like Napoleon Hill's Think and Grow Rich, or Wallace Wattle's Science of Getting Rich) and get them on CD or tape for your commute as well - put them on your pod-player when you exercise or do your lawn work.
Once you've got these going - well on the way to memorizing them because you listen to them all the time - then set some time into your schedule to do Hill's 6 steps every single day, two or three times a day. It only takes a few minutes each time - and you can slip it in over lunch with a reminder card in a spare pocket somewhere.
That's the short route. It works.
Once you feel you need more know-how in your life, you can get other books/tapes to go over and over and over. But don't go back to listening to the radio during your commutes or the TV at home. Fully envelope yourself in this new world you are creating.
That's all for getting rich. "The Secret" has additional tools to help you with your family relations and your health.
But the kicker is: if what you are thinking and doing isn't getting you what you want in life, then you are going to have to change what you are thinking and doing. So change what you are thinking and doing.
Luck to us all...
