Money - only a symbol

True. Charles Haanel said it in his Master Key System (first I read of it). Napoleon Hill covers this point, as well as Wallace Wattles in their best sellers. First Western writer to cover this was probably Thomas Troward, who had his sources in ancient Eastern and Judaic/Christian texts.

Even older is the ancient Polynesian Huna philosophy, which actually doesn't even mention this as a vital subject at all.

Money-as-symbol represents the value of the exchange. With poor exchange, the symbol evaporates. Thieves cannot hold onto and cannot spend what they obtained by deception or deceit.

Anyone who looks around them even briefly can see proof of this.

Too many people build up huge wealth only to die in bankruptcy. Others hold onto vast sums, but live their life a recluse because of their own fears - no amount of money could by them peace of mind.

Money represents the value of what you have given to others. It is only a fluid, not a static. And even ice can't he preserved forever. Wind and sun erode through time.

What, then, is the value of life? We all seek to improve, to evolve - which includes our family, our children, our relatives.

People who defraud, who scam, these people are reaping the whirlwind of the changes they created in the lives of others. Their own lives and the lives they touch are ravaged by forces they cannot control once unleashed. And whether they believe in it or not, the Golden Rule says all they create for others will be created for themselves. A Natural Law.

Peace of mind, true happiness - these things cannot be bought.

The wealth a person possesses is measured by his worth to others.

If you have people on your lines, connected to you, giving you advice - or setting your examples: wise them up. What is their actual value to you? What do they give you and what do they give others around you? How do they expect to be repaid?

Who do you owe? How can you repay those debts?

Are you being held ransom by the quality of life you lead? When can you jump off a spinning treadmill?

Do you seek to live with the Truth - or is everything a gray area of PR?

What you wind up with - not what money you are now getting - is determined by how you answer these questions above.

For your world is as you create it - you can only lie in the bed you've made for yourself.

Here's to comfortable and pleasant dreams...

Some final words at this level of viewing

It appears to me that there is another level beyond what we can see here. That next level above where we are currently isn't all that real or even percievable. This is probably due to having too many agreements with this current physical world around us.

I mention this here only as a note of record. Many references (Silva UltraMind, Tad James Huna, Deepak Chopra, among others) give hints of abilities and possibilities far greater than what we are currently using.

Clearly, this evolutionary jump is invisible to those still here. Especially when you have the problem that under 5 percent will actually take advantage of proven self-help techniques to actually improve their lives.

Practically, the Law of Attraction (as covered ably, if briefly, by "The Secret" DVD) will provide everything you need - you only have to ask. Nightingale, Wattles, Haanel and all the rest had this figured out generations ago.

So, outside of some actions you have to take - which will come to you via intuition, there is little you have to continue to do which your culture, genetics, and education traditionally require. Practially, if you want to evolve, you have to help others evolve. At least that is what I can see at this level. Means enabling connections to self-help and self-improvement to all you meet. And eat your own dog food constantly (computer term - means to run the programs you write).

Occam's Razor applies. The Law of Attraction, plus the Golden Rule means that if you want evolution, you have to consider yourself evolved and meanwhile do everything in your power to help others around you to evolve. That is the simplest approach. And the Pareto Principle, plus the Bell Curve/Long Tail say that you should pretty much ignore modern trends in everything, and live life the way you feel (intuit) it should be done. Under that same Golden Rule, you work to help others constantly, but don't expect to have to recieve any help in return - all help you give is completely open-handed.

You can have all the money, fame, good fortune, health, happiness, etc. you want. But the above lays out the simplicity of how to get along and get evolved.

I've got some years to study this - or let it sink in fully.

Pointless worry

Worry is pointless. It is essentially a "maybe" racketing forward in time. You are bouncing between bad effects in the past and possibly re-experiencing these in the future. However, there isn't any reason to worry. Anything you worry about is only there to worry you. Simply change your attitude and get happy, find the good within. Worries then cease bothering you. Trust your intuition to give you solutions to the situations you find yourself in. The more you practice your intuition, the better you get at it.

Any worry or indecision could be chased back to some personal insecurity, some "esteem" problem. The solution is simpler than the texts say. Simply find the good within - find and be thankful for the good things about you. Focus on these good things and the "bad" things about you will simply fall away. You attract what you think about - so think about those things you like most about yourself and you will get more good things showing up. That's all there is to handling "esteem" problems. Quit listening to what others think about you, quit needing approval for the actions you take in life. Listen to the good within and you will continue growing from whereever you left off.

Have fun in life and life will become fun around you.

More dog food - when the dumps capture your spirit...

I'm about two weeks into this 30-day program and hit a bit of an uphill grind. As I got into this, I got a lot more energy, but after some time, simply playing "The Secret" DVD/Soundtrack in the background didn't seem to have the same effect. My spirits sagged.

Now this is just what I predicted: "The situation to watch for is that within the first three days or so, more or less, that habit you are trying to change will kick in much harder than you usually experience. Your cravings will peak and subside, usually in about a week, and then taper off as the new habit takes over."

That "three days or so", isn't a set deal. Not all habits will be changed in three weeks or less. The thing to realize in re-programming yourself is that you are changing many, many interlocked habits all at once. So the defenses these have will kick in and out, trying to shift you back to the old patterns. The trick, as Hill devotes a whole chapter to, is persistence.

Using "The Secret" as a core theme program has a very interesting approach, in that it asks you to feel positive, to feel gratitude, to watch out for things that don't make you feel good, that don't bring you peace.

As your attitudes are completely under your control, you can see that any non-optimal/negative feeling entering your space can be changed. As you can analyze your own scene, it becomes very interesting to take these thoughts apart and find how you may have attracted this into your world. There is a particular person at work, who is a bit critical of everyone around him, likes to play practical jokes, etc. He made a comment which got under my skin. But then I turned the tables on him - I saw that I was in the middle of chewing over some old relationship I had been in years prior when he made that comment. Before that and after that, he hardly said a word to me. So my prior point in re-experiencing negative scenes I had been in had set the stage to attract his comment. I just got back to feeling good about things (found something I was grateful for, as per "The Secret" and you'll note above that "after that ... he hardly said a word to me."

One teacher on this DVD said that when you are feeling good and someone around you comes in in a bad mood, you will actually wind up in another space from that person.

Good feelings attract good manifestations. You are changing your world by getting into habitually feeling good all the time, regardless of the situations which happen in the world around you.

Some interesting thoughts which have been coming in are self-doubt, especially about money. However, I also have had several checks via PayPal show up in my account during this same period - these are based on earlier work I did with my Lulu storefront. As well, I just approved a contract with a publisher from Down Under. While one could simply say, well this is all the result of the hard work you've been putting in - but Wattles points out that these things will come through "the ways of established trade and commerce".

But people are "lucky" to the degree they use gratitude in their life and have faith in themselves. While they may have taking the intuitive step to improve their business situations, all these things really just are happening because a person thinks that way - and agrees with the various systems and cultural organization around that person.

The trick in any 30-day or longer program of reorganizing and re-programming one's life, is to keep to the course you set and re-establish that course as needed while you go. And so the reason for keeping a certain tape, MP3 or DVD playing every day during this period.

Then compare notes at the end of that time period to see what you still need to fix, or what new level you would like to achieve at that point. Some have told me that in this universe, you either go up or go down. Others have held that when you stop learning, lie down brother - for you are dead and don't know it. There is really no limit to what any individual can improve in his/her life.

Why not test this for yourself?

"The Secret" Unauthorized Transcript - Chapter One

Following is the first chapter of a completely unauthorized partial transcript of "The Secret".

I do this as a public service, not to imping on the commercial value of this DVD. I've found incredible nuggets of data available through this particular DVD. I've separately blogged that people should used this DVD as Bob Proctor recommends - listening to this every day for at least 30 days in order to re-program your thinkining over to continued, habitual use of the Law of Attraction.

This transcript is only a complilation of the subtitles, adding in the quotes which appear on-screen through that DVD. There is no attempt to link the various teachers with their quotes. I've edited this transcript with an eye to readability, keeping similar thoughts together in paragraphs.

Please enjoy and comment as you wish. But buy and give "The Secret" DVD. What this transcript covers has far more meaning when you read it after having listened to this DVD several times.

Chapter 1

A year ago, my life had collapsed around me. I'd worked myself into exhaustion. My father died suddenly, and my relationships were in turmoil. Little did I know at the time, out of my greatest despair was to come the greatest gift. I'd been given a glimpse of a great Secret.

I began tracing The Secret back through history. I couldn't believe all the people who knew this. They were the greatest people in history. Why doesn't any one know this?

All I wanted to do was share The Secret with the world. I began searching for people alive today who know The Secret. One by one they began to emerge.

You know this Secret gives you everything you want... happiness, health, and wealth. You can have, do, or be anything you want.

We can have whatever it is that we choose. I don't care how big it is.

What kind of a house do you want to live in?

Do you want to be a millionaire?

What kind of a business do you want to have?

Do you want more success?

What do you really want?

I've seen many miracles take place in people's lives. Financial miracles, miracles of physical healing, mental healing, healing in relationships. All of this happened because of knowing how to apply The Secret.

This is the great Secret of life.

“The secret is the answer
to all that has been,
all that is, and all
that will ever be.”
- Ralph Waldo Emerson

You've probably been sitting there wondering, what is this Secret? I'll tell you how I've come to understand it. We all work with one infinite power. We all guide ourselves by exactly the same laws. The natural laws of the universe are so precise, that we don't even have any difficulty building space ships, we can send people to the moon, and we can time the landing with the precision of a fraction of a second. I don't care if you're in India, if you're in Australia, New Zealand, Stockholm or London or Toronto or Montreal or New York. We're all working with one power.

One law.

It's attraction.

The Secret is the law of attraction. Everything that's coming into your life you are attracting into your life. And it's attracted to you by virtue of the images you're holding in your mind. It's what you're thinking.

You see whatever is going on in your mind you are attracting to you. Now wise people have always known that. You can go right back to the ancient Babylonians, they've always known this. Did you know a small select group of people earns around 96% of all the money that's being earned?

Do you think that's an accident?

It's no accident.

It's designed that way. They understand something. They understand The Secret. And you are being introduced to The Secret.

The simplest way for me to look at the law of attraction is if I think of myself as a magnet, and I know that a magnet will attract to it. Very basically put, the law of attraction says that like attracts like.

But we're really talking at a level of thought.

Our job as humans is to hold onto the thoughts of what we want, make it absolutely clear in our minds what we want, and from that we start to invoke one of the greatest laws in the universe, and that's the law of attraction.

You become what you think about most but you also attract what you think about most.

If you see it in here, you're going to hold it here.

And that principle can be summed up in three simple words. Thoughts become things.

What most people don't understand is a thought has a frequency. Every thought has a
frequency. We can measure a thought.

And so if you're thinking that thought over and over and over again, or if you're imagining in your mind, having that brand new car, having the money that you need, building that company, finding your soul mate.

If you're imagining what that looks like, you're emitting that frequency on a consistent basis.

Thoughts are sending out that magnetic signal that is drawing the parallel back to you.

See yourself living in abundance, and you will attract it.

It always works, it works every time, with every person.

Here's the problem.

Most people are thinking about what they don't want, and they're wondering why it shows up over and over and over again.

The law of attraction doesn't care whether you perceive something to be good or bad or whether you don't want it, or whether you do want it.

It's responding to your thoughts. So if you're sitting there looking at a mountain of debt, feeling terrible about it, that's the signal you're putting out into the universe. 'Wow, I feel really bad because of all this debt I've got.' You're just affirming it to yourself, you feel it on every level of your being. That's what you're going to get more of.

The law of attraction is really obedient. When you think of the things that you want, and you focus on them, with all of your intention, the law of attraction will give you what you want, every time.

When you focus on the things that you don't want, I don't want to be late, I don't want to be late, you really are calling that into existence.

The law of attraction doesn't hear that you don't want it, and so it's going to show up over and over and over again. The law of attraction is not bias to wants or don't wants. It manifests the things that you're thinking. The law of attraction is always working, whether you believe it or understand it or not. It's always working. It's working as much as you're thinking.

Anytime your thoughts are flowing, the law of attraction is operational. When you're thinking about the past, the present or the future, the law of attraction is working. It's an ongoing process. You don't press pause, you don't press stop. It is forever in action, as your thoughts are.

Creation is always happening. Every time an individual has a thought or a prolonged chronic way of thinking, they're in the creation process. Something is going to manifest out of those thoughts. Law of attraction says we'll give you whatever it is you say and focus on. And so if you're complaining about how bad it is, what you're creating is more of how bad it is.

I had a student named Robert. Robert was a gay man, and he was taking an on line course I have, part of which entails email access to me. And he outlined all of the grim realities of his life. In his job, all the people ganged up on him, and it was constantly stressful because of how nasty they were with him. When he walked down the street, he said every block he was accosted by homophobic people who wanted to abuse him in some way. He was wanting to become a stand-up comedian, and when he went out and did a stand-up comedy job, everybody heckled him about being gay. And his whole life was one of a lot of unhappiness and misery, and it all focused around this idea of being attacked because he was gay.

I began to teach him that he was focusing on what he did not want. I directed him back to his email that he sent me and said, 'Read it again. Look at all the things you do not want that you're telling me about. And I can tell you're very passionate about this. When you focus on something with a lot of passion, it makes it happen even faster.' And then he really started taking this thing about focusing on what you want to heart. And he began really trying it.

What happened within the next 6 - 8 weeks was absolutely a miracle. He said that all the people in his office that had been harassing him either transferred to another department, quit working at the company, or started totally leaving him alone. And he began to love his job. He noticed that when he was walking down the street, that nobody came up to him and harassed him anymore. They just weren't there. When he went and did his stand-up comedy routines he started getting standing ovations, and nobody was heckling him. His whole life changed, because he changed from focusing on what he did not want, what he was afraid of, what he wanted to avoid, to focusing on what he did want.

So we may be very positive in our outlook and orientation, and we tend to attract positive people and positive events and circumstances. When we're very negative in our orientation, or very angry, in which case we tend to attract negative angry people and negative angry circumstances. And so you end up attracting to you the predominant thoughts that you're holding in your awareness, whether those thoughts are conscious or whether they're unconscious.

That's the rub.

If you look very carefully when it comes to The Secret and the power of our mind and the power of our intention in our daily lives, its all around us. All we gotta do is open our eyes and look. You can see law of attraction everywhere. You draw everything to yourself. The people, the job, the circumstances, the health, the wealth the debt, the joy, the car that you drive, the community that you're in. And you've drawn them all to you, like a magnet.

What you think about you bring about. Your life is a physical manifestation of the thoughts that go on in your head. I mean, I'm not talking to you from the point of view of just wishful thinking, or imaginary craziness. I'm talking to you from a deeper, basic understanding. Quantum physics really begins to point to this discovery. It says that you can't have a universe without mind entering into it. That the mind is actually shaping the very thing that is being perceived.

Now if you don't understand it doesn't mean that you should reject it. You don't understand electricity probably. First of all no one even knows what electricity is, and yet you enjoy the benefits of it. Do you know how it works? I don't know how it works. But I do know this, that you can cook a man's dinner with electricity and you can also cook the man. People oftentimes, when they begin to understand the great Secret, become frightened of all these negative thoughts that they have.

Two things they need to be aware of.

One, it has been proven now scientifically that an affirmative thought ls hundreds of times more powerful than a negative thought. So that eliminates a degree of worry right there.

And the second thing is, that thank god there's a time delay, that all of your thoughts don't come true instantly. We'd be in trouble if they did. The time delay serves you. It allows you to reassess, think about what you want, and make a new choice.

So you want to become aware of your thoughts and you want to choose your thoughts carefully.

And you want to have fun with this, because you are the masterpiece of your own life. You are the Michelangelo of your own life. The David that you are sculpting is you. And you do it with your thoughts.

The Law of Attraction works daily

And so we reach an end, and a beginning.

I've finished off the last book in the Go Thunk Yourself(TM) series. This has all the Dog Food articles and all what I've been through personally up to this point. So the Compleat book is where you get all the latest research and my notes. I've also included a commentary on Haanel from my own studies. And that is all in this last book.

The reason this is last, is that I've got other things to do - mostly comics. So my posts might start being thin from here on out - at least in text - as I'll be posting comics through my blog, My Flyover Zone.

I do have a send off to you, though. Check out The Secret and get the DVD. This tells you everything I've been covering, more or less, through my Go Thunk Yourself series. Here's some fifty-two different teachers who tell their various stories and techniques for using the Law of Attraction. Listen to this DVD over and over and over. It's that important. It can change your life. For many, it already has, over and over.

'Nuff said. Buy The Secret DVD. Buy my books.

The Secret is out - and the world is a smaller, more prosperous place...

This producer from Australia made a movie about the Law of Attraction - which is key to so many, many things. It's a very good video, on par with "What the (Bleep) Do We Know?"

Both are key to understanding the world and everything in our Universe.

I've just about completed all the immediate dog food. In conjunction with my new publisher, I'm wrapping up the fourth book in the GTY series - Go Thunk Yourself(TM), Compleat! This will not be published as a blog, nor will it be given away as a free download. This book will summarize all the earlier books in this series, plus contain the latest research.

It looks at this writing that I'm not to be doing all those articles I originally planned. Instead, I'll be presenting all these ideas I've written about and published entirely through illustrated books - basically cartoon parables. While this will flesh out later, these are going to be published through my blog My Flyover Zone.

So this very strange trip has been pretty unique to me, but common to many of the age-old philosophers and religious scholars. ALL (yes, all) successful businessmen, politicians, artists, etc. have used this one "secret" to achieve their fame and glory. That's what the first GTY book was about, entirely. Through the series, I've just boiled this down to the final conclusion: it's all built on love - another manner of stating the Law of Attraction, Quantum Hologram, Universal Mind, etc., etc.

This week, then, I'll knock off the last chapters, edit and post the final copy and straighten out the bookstore a bit.

After that, I'm getting into my cartoons professionally. Look out, world. I'm creating a new one.

And best wishes with your own re-creating yours.

Fear, Hate, Love

This is one key datum from everything Haanel. Note here that this is also key to other belief systems. Huna holds as one of its seven principles: "To Love is to be Happy With". A Course in Miracles has the dichotomy of Love and Fear to one of the key principles.

18. The principle which gives the thought the dynamic power to correlate with its object, and therefore to master every adverse human experience, is the law of attraction, which is another name for love. This is an eternal and fundamental principle, inherent in all things, in every system of Philosophy, in every Religion, and in every Science. There is no getting away from the law of love. It is feeling that imparts vitality to thought. Feeling is desire, and desire is love. Thought impregnated with love becomes invincible.

In Go Thunk Yourself, Smore!, I cover this as:

0. Love exists as a primal force. Some have relegated this as a law to explain it more easily. Love is a part of creation and all construction and growth. Lack of love, or its denial, sponsors hate, fear, and anger in their various forms. Each of these attitudes are dissolved once love is supplied in sufficient quantity to overcome its lack.

But I wrote these before I really started studying Haanel paragraph by paragraph.

There are these repeating datums (Wattles covers this obliquely, while Peale takes the Christian slant on this, and King recounts the traditional Huna version above).

That's the whole point to this line of research. Find the system and learn it, then teach it to others or at least expose them to its existence.

More dog food.

While I haven't written, lately, rest assured that my world continues, it's path toward truth inexorable...

While you can see that I dogged this last entry at schedules, this is exactly what has been bugging my life up in working out how to get Haanel studied. Interesting, I found that I needed to publish a smaller student guide, based on the original student handbook, so that I could study over lunch and breaks. This has worked out, remarkably. You see, I returned to working weekends at a local warehouse, while my festivals and their caricature work take a winter hiatus. So being able to study a spiral-bound 6x9 book in the scraps of time is essential to making any progress.

Haanel tends to build up a momentum, like any well-written book. Here, you study paragraph by paragraph and there is no skipping around, since the language is a form of English not commonly used these days. But that's fine, the book is written with numbered paragraphs so you can. I've planned a commentary on this book, which will find its way into GTY S'more.

This morning, I'd like to tell you about the interesting connections I've found showing up around me. Right now, I'm on Lesson Fourteen in the book. By now, Haanel is talking about how one is tied in to the Universal mind through the subconscious - although he doesn't ever (at least so far) give much of the mechanical connection between the conscious, subconscious and Unversal Mind (superconscious). Serge King does a much better job of this, but Haanel comments:
22. Do you, can you, appreciate the value of this all-important fact; do you realize that a recognition of this tremendous fact places you in touch with Omnipotence? The subconscious mind being the connecting link between the Universal Mind and the conscious mind, is it not evident that the conscious mind can consciously suggest thoughts which the subconscious mind will put into action, and as the subconscious is one with the Universal, is it not evident that no limit can be placed upon its activities?

I've been interestingly working around the various metaphors we use in order to work at accessing data in the Quantum Hologram/Universal Mind via the subconscious mind. While King and others reference and use the Garden as a means of getting data and improving your life, there are many other means of doing this. Some, as Hill suggests in his chapter on the Sixth Sense, can use other metaphors, such as Hill's board meeting. There are traditions of departed spirits giving lessons to the living. (Which got Huna into trouble originally with the Christian missionaries.) One can have any number of your ancestors (or others) giving you data on an infrequent basis on how to live your life. The mechanical explanation is that your subconscious is giving you a means of filtering the data you need from the Universal Mind/Higher Intelligence. All you are doing with your conscious mind is setting up various agreements so that you are able to recieve this new data.

This is what any study of Haanel does. On a gradient scale, through doing the exercises daily and weekly, you start opening up your mind and training it so that you can start recieving this insight as you constantly "post" your own vision through the subconsious to the Unversal/superconscious. These various metaphors are a means of giving you your answers and guidence.

Another metaphor is dreams. If your start the habit of keeping a journal to write down your dreams (I lay awhile every morning and after every nap to work at remembering my dreams and distilling their content) you will start being able to remember their content vividly. (King devotes a whole chapter to this in his book, Mastering The Hidden Self - yes, I recommend him and his book highly. I'd link you to Amazon, but their system isn't that intutive and I fear leaving you with a broken link.)

The point of the conscious is coordination and cooperation. Mastering life means working with all of your various impulses and fears, as well as your hopes and expectations. Through my Go Thunk Yourself series, as well as the reference books I've provided, I hope that people can see that of the many routes up the mountain, they are all singing the same chorus. It's just a matter of studying the fundamentals and then working out the an effective system which you personally can use. As in Huna, "Effectiveness is the measure of truth." Or, as King writes,
The last principle, 'Effectiveness is the measure of truth,' indicates in a subtle way that you can choose to take someone else's word for what is true, or you can plunge into the stream of life and test it for yourself.
And that is the simplicity of it all, which is why I advise people to take up Huna after Haanel. I can see now that I have to do some major additions to GTYS before I finalise it in any fashion - but that's why it's a blog, afterall... and why I'm writing this blog as well. (Though I don't know that the "Dog Food" route is one I can use - it makes more sense to geeks than perhaps the bulk of readers, though it certainly is graphic.)

Back to my point - when you study Haanel, you gradiently get into this connection with the Supreme/Universal Mind. If you open up your senses, especially through the various metaphors mentioned above, you can have incredible things happen in your life. The more you discipline yourself to personal trust and faith, developing certainty of action and taking action - all the world becomes open to you. Just as Braden and others say that the Quantum Hologram/Universal Mind contains all known data, utilizing various spiritual metaphors will have this literally suggesting itself to you - like an always-on Google search button. Everything you do is constantly searched and the most relative results are given you - if you set up your metaphors to produce these results and you trust yourself.

What this will take is some work in sorting out and disciplining your subconscious/ku. You have to spend some time confronting life and not allowing people to tell you to run away from parts of it. While Haanel tells us the bottom line on creating your vision is love, you have all these people in your life (as well as TV and cable news) inviting you to hate or fear (which are simply absenses of love). There is a discipline (which Jesus of Nazareth found and illustrated) in keeping love in your life. But, as anything, it involves the disciplined action of turning that other cheek and not forwarding the hate and dispersal.

A simple method on this line: take a deep breath and physically relax before you do anything in response. If you develop this as a habit, you will find that you live a more peaceful life and can solve presented problems more rationally. Temper is a habit of uncontrolled emotions. One can replace any temper habit through a discipline of Love. Imagine if everyone around you would only give you constructive criticism - what a world we would be in. Things would continue getting better and better. Well, such a world is possible, is at our finger tips.

And perhaps, just perhaps, it is time for those among us to act in such fashions to solve those around us who deal almost entirely in hate (ie. the jihadists).

But above all, continue to study and pray/meditate and evolve. That is your only real personal hope, as well as any hope for anyone around you, much less this planet.

At least it's a fun ride...

More links and stuff...

More stuff onto the web pages - cross-linking until I get bored, tired, or both. I made this logo-related stuff, like t-shirts and coffee cups and so on. Also published my book (again) - so I have two paperbacks created on two different POD publishers. Cafepress is nothing compared to Lulu, while the former can do all sorts of stuff where the latter only does (mostly) books and paper articles. Both are trying new stuff, though.

Point here is that there are now legitimate ways for an individual to simply create the same stuff which big corporations have only been able to do before now.

The next item for me is getting my artwork published and then getting off that whirlwind. Seems that Cafepress will set up a production line which creates framed and matted prints (you just supply the original).

That's fascinating stuff, since it enables a completely remote individual to have the same capability and publishing influences one who has a publishing company working over his stuff. I've got it easy, since I'm a cross between a writer and graphic artist. So I can write and design the book and covers. So it takes a pretty unique individual (Da Vinci/Renaissance Man) type of character. But it is possible, and any other individual could simply hire out the skills he lacks. Like for me, I miss the broader PR possibilities - but I can probably find some person to enter my life to take over all the wealth of material I've created...

Life is EXACTLY What You Imagine it to Be.

Well, here's the latest and greatest. Turned up as inspiration from a dream. Check out the article to see what I'm talking about.

Still working on the previous article, since it has everything to do with the problems I personally am running into in getting my own re-programming done.

Oh, and I found out that it is exceedingly easy to publish hardbound versions of trade paperbacks via Lulu. So I did. If you like the heft and feel of a hardbound book, the key books are all there.

This is one thing which is taking me away from my personal work. Just have to keep fine-tuning the bookstore. Hopefully now I'm finished. Posted Hill's The Law of Success as a research tool (in both trade paperback and hardbound). This was an interesting book, in that it is a simpler text, in some respects, than Think and Grow Rich, and was written about a decade earlier. Just trying to make your own studies and research easier. While I need to update that Companion CD, it's fine for now.

Next on my list is getting the collateral site up - over at Cafepress, where you can buy t-shirts and caps which tell anyone to "GO THUNK YOURSELF" in my successful logo colors. And I'll have another cafepress store for my artwork, just to get this up and ready for Xmas sales.

But for now, read my latest post - as I sort out my schedule (next step) so that I can get onto my own re-programming...

Life is EXACTLY What You Imagine it to Be.

Means all this around us is exactly what we think it to be. This gives our reason for why things tend to be so bad around us – we allow the news to treat it that way. This explains why we are having a rise in pornography addiction and pedophilia – people are able to surround themselves with deviant material and so become that world: they are filling their minds with sexually-related materials and their world then fills with that same material.

Biggest problem I have is faith

What is most remarkable, in this gut-spilling scene, is that I'm finding that my faith is being exercised to and beyond it's breaking point. That's the ticket in this whole scene. Hill, Haanel, Allen, Troward, all those guys have the same single point. And yes, it's in that one sentence in the linked blog entry.

But I thought it interesting enough to not link to Go Thunk Yourself, S'more! blog.

Ever tried something that shouldn't work and it did? I've had all these coincidences my entire life. I can fix just about anything. I get along great with any pet or livestock - I can settle them down and get them to go where I want them to, generally.

So why ain't I rich? That comes back - I already am and just haven't shown it yet.

So it is simply listening to that small voice in your head or somewhere. Trust yourself - it will all show up and go right. Practice makes perfect, afterall.

Over to you. What have you been practicing lately?

And as I write this post about cleaning, my own room is a mess.

I've just finished a five-year whirlwind of research while attaining some seven degrees - but that is my justification. I've got tons of stuff figured out, three books written and another half-dozen edited and published.

Now I have to put it all to work/use.

But the room/apartment I live in has gotten second shift. I've got piles of stuff to sort out, shelves of books and bindered notes as ready reference.

Through the time I was studying at college, I found that I have some other work to do. Thought I'd train up on computers as I've always been good at fixing things. But I also found that I could do caricatures and make as much money during the weekends as I did during a 40-hour work doing wage-slave labor in local warehouses. This leaves the rest of the week free for writing, blogging, et al.

But, this winter I have to make some money to continue this trend. Owing to the cold weather, I don't have caricature work between October and May. So eBay and ecommerce rears their heads as possible solutions. To do this, I have to organize stuff.

I pushed this education along to get it all done. Then I pushed writing these books through to have those off my plate. All I have to do now is to market them through regular articles. Which I am doing through these blogs, for now.

But I'm also working to clean up this room and organize it so that it contributes somehow to my production. Just have to clean it all up.

Odd point is that now it is harvest season, which has its own distractions. I'm more than tempted to work more on the farm right now to get all the crops in and things fixed/prepped for winter.

The interesting point is that I have found that the simple points of Chopra/Vitale actually harness solutions out of the void to make things happen around me. A lost dog shows up for breakfast. A pump which has been giving me problems for weeks starts working.

There is that point which Wattles talks about, where you have to do more in your job than expected. You have to give more than asked for. (Which is why you can get free downloads of my books - although I still have to improve on this...)

But, again, I figure that I have to get all this junk out of my life. Like all these computer books I have laying around. Sell them and give 10 percent of the cash to charity (I've already given a chunk of the best ones to the library in town.) Then I'm due to recieve the funds I need to not only complete all this research, but also get the marketing done and make everything a success.

And so this book becomes a very personal test for me. Which I'll pass with flying colors, as usual, but I'm taking you along with me...

Turn off the TV - whaaaa?

Figure that the bulk of your lifetime is spent working to make income and spending your hard-won income for someone else. You spend 40 hours working and some 10 hours or more commuting each week to that job. Many, especially in the Midwest with our lower income job scenarios, will work three jobs between one couple as they raise their kids. Take out the 7/8 hours sleep we get a night - 56 or so hours a week. Now, if all your spare time (62 hours, not including meals) is spent in front of the boob tube, then you are giving up the majority of your "thunking" time to someone else.

You routinely work at solving someone else's problems at work. Commuting is spent listening to popular radio shows - you are trying to "take your mind off" the stresses of the job or the commute or whatever. Lunch is hobnobbing or gossiping and is another escape from work stress. When you then get home, your 5 hours each night watching a movie or syndicated TV show (leaving you one hour to get ready for work in the morning).

Helluva life, huh? You have the weekend only to get any thinking done for yourself. Two days of relative peace and quiet. Do you spend these days recovering after the late-night parties on Friday and Saturday night? Again - who are you working for? What is all your precious spare time being spent on?

If you really want to improve yourself, the question becomes: How do you invest the time you spend on this planet daily and weekly?

If you are spending your time thinking for someone else, then using the money you gain in all sorts of "entertainment" devices and rentals and expenses - you are spending your time for someone else. There is no personal gain in watching TV, reading newspapers, or popular novels - if the reason you are doing this is as a distraction to the real world.

If there is something in your life you would like to improve, then you obviously have to start re-investing the available waking hours you have to better use. Something's gotta give.

At work, your best use is not daydreaming, but getting your job done and getting more efficient at what you do so that you are kept on and keep getting valuable raises each year, let alone promotions.

During commutes, you might use that CD player most cars to play inspirational or self-help MP-3's - or learn another language, or listen to audio versions of books you need for your job or your spare time hobbies.

When you get home, don't turn on the TV. Just say no for a couple of weeks. Don't read the newspaper. Fire up the computer and get some news and sports summaries instead. Only read the articles which you are really interested in and feel will do you some good or improve your life in some fashion. This doesn't mean you drop out of touch - it just means that you can use the computer to selectively keep only those top stories you really need to know about. Means the network and cable news programs can't just distract you anytime and in any sequence they want to. Get your news and then get off the computer. Don't sit there and fire up a video game.

Now, you have all this free time every day - about 3-4 hours - where you can do what you want.

If you are interested in self-improvement, here is where you plug in your own schedule or program to accomplish what you want. Exercise, do yoga, pray/meditate, start studying to train up on what you want.

But the first point is clearing out your life of unnecessary control. Imagine all the commercials you don't have to listen to anymore. (Especially during political season - you already pick who you want based on word-of-mouth and how your parents voted, so let's be real about these guys and their hatchet-job ads on each other.) Ignore the mainstream press and also the cable guys. Ignore popular TV (except those shows which forward your own personal improvement program, like educational channels).

Turn off the TV, only watch the Internet selectively. Start taking charge of your own world and those few hours you have which you can call your own.

Continuing on four steps

Got started on cleaning my room out. Not a lot of progress. Found out I probably have to leave the TV set off and if anything is needed as background, listen to self-help MP3's.

Now, I've created some tools to help me in my memorizing. I got the Summary of the Science of Getting Rich all on one page in two columns. So one can fold it down the center and then concentrate on learning one paragraph, then two, then three, and so on.

I also found a short piece by Serge Kahili King, where he lays out the 7 principles of Huna in a concise fashion.

Both of these I created in Open Office and then exported to PDF, which are linked above.

So now you can have the same tools I use in order to re-program yourself.

I review these in the morning on waking, the afternoon when rising from a nap, and in the evening before turning out the lights.

- - - -

On other points, I had a dog go missing yesterday - simply went off to visit the neighbors and didn't return all day. I utilized that principle of Dr. Peale's from my first self-help book and concieved the dog back in its favorite resting place (a chair on the front porch) and also reviewed and filled my mind with the positive emotions connected with that dog being there - which comes from the same book chapter, and is covered in greater detail in the original thesis. (See Braden, et al.)

Anyway, as I was filling up both dog dishes this morning (we have two dogs) with their food, here comes the missing dog - all happy and tail-wagging and hungry for breakfast.

This stuff works if you are willing to try it and suspend disbelief while you do.

- - - -

A side note - I've taken the Student Manual offlines from my self-help bookstore as it had far too many errors in it - I had rushed far too fast in getting it uploaded. But rest assured, I'll get those minor errors fixed as fast as I can and the book back up for use shortly. You'll need a copy in order to follow along, though you can compile a set for yourself from various downloads:

  1. Science of Getting Rich - the summary
  2. Think and Grow Rich - the 6 point steps (or you can buy the book below from Amazon)
  3. Haanel's Master Key System - entire thing (you can also get it free from the separate pages I've posted starting here.
  4. The 7 Principles of Huna - as I provided above.

The essence of the Student Manual program is to memorize 1), do the 6 steps of 2), complete all 24 lessons of 3), and then memorize 4). But I wrote and compiled the Student Manual so that you have all of it in one place, along with wide margins for writing notes in as well as extra space so that Haanel's lessons can be used as lessons again. It also has a spiral binding so that you can fold it over on itself to save desk space and be more manageable.

More later...

update: 10/15 - Student Manual is back again, updated and ready for purchase. (Sorry, no downloads - I've already given you what you need to write it yourself; all those references are available through my bookstore.

First steps need be small ones

Other than the beginning steps of having something to change and a reason to do so, the other basic is realizing that you are going to be changing some very basic habits, some ideas and ideals which have been deeply held for perhaps one's whole life long (and some posit perhaps longer...).

Now, the first steps seem to be four - but these are a little interlocked, so don't take them as a clear sequence, but a series of steps which are reviewed and refined:

  1. Look around the environment you've created and get rid of anything which is really holding you back. That adult entertainment, those pharmaceuticals (legal or otherwise), those news programs, the clubs which really torque you around at every meeting - quit, desist, junk, throw out all of these, as you can, as soon as you can.
  2. Get onto a sensible schedule which has enough sleep, but enables you to form new patterns. In that schedule, you will need to get into the proverbial "early to bed, early to rise". Means not that you are onto some farmer's schedule of rising before the sun, but it means that you are disciplined enough to stay on a schedule and not drag yourself around in the morning and arrive to work "just under the wire", but without sufficient nourishment and short on sleep.
  3. Set up a healthy diet routine. It may not mean cutting out all beef products, or colas, but will mean getting far more real healthy food and less "fast food" or "TV dinners" in favor of home-cooked meals created from as-close-to-farm-fresh whole vegetables as you can. You also need to exercise daily - any sort will do to begin with. Just get out and get the body moving around.
  4. Your schedule is going to have to contain some time for daily prayer/meditation/review/soul-searching. The reason for this is to reinforce your new habits that you are forming. Some of this time would be spent in studying new data which will reinforce your new patterns. But daily work at what you are creating brings those patterns into a new habit. Your old habits will "protest too loudly", but your consistent reinforcement of your new patterns will replace this old habit as long as you do it repetitively, on a set schedule, for as little as three times to as long as three weeks - which probably depends on how "thick" the habit is, how strongly held, and your conviction to change it - as well as your personal self-faith.
These are the beginning steps: a) drop the inefficient, the trivial, the self-destructive "stuff" around you, b) get on a regular schedule, c) start eating right and exercising, d) get daily time set for your own personal use to study and pray/meditate/review your recently input data.

More later... (Busy taking out some trash I've left around.) ;)

Go Thunk Yourself(TM)!

Oddly, a shift in purpose

2nd post is repurposing this blog, at least for now.

I've decided to eat my own dog food and take the plunge I've written in Go Thunk Yourself S'more. Reason being is that this theory is untested - and I can't tell people what to do unless I've tried it all out. And besides, this re-programming will then make the success I wich for.

So this blog will become the daily journal of these effects, while the blog above records the essays I need to write as part of them. For this time, the two blogs are reversed. Once I've gotten through the entire sequence I laid out in that book, then I'll have all the material to finish off that book - and have given all possible readers the material to comment on as I go.

So, I'll see you tomorrow for the first update. Luck to us all.
